Rhodes Squash Club (RSC) always welcomes beginners. New members are the lifeblood of every club - RSC is no exception. Here’s what you need to get started with squash in Rhodes Island.

JOIN THE CLUB

Your first step is to join RSC. The membership opens up lessons, coaches, guidance, opponents, tournaments and league play.

FIND A COACH

Squash it’s fun and easy sport to learn. However, professional instruction is recommended, especially at the beginning. Players in Rhodes Island benefit from having well respected and technically advanced coaches.

PICK YOUR EQUIPMENT

First and foremost you will pick an appropriate racket. Then you will decide on the shoes and protective eyewear. Sports shops in Rhodes carry some squash equipment but there is an abundance of options online.

BOOK A COURT

There are 5 squash courts on the island. Sheraton Rhodes Resort, our main partner and sponsor, has two squash courts. Hotel Porto Angeli Beach Resort has two courts and City Fitness Next Gen Gym has one.

WHAT TO BRING

For the first couple of weeks, you only need sports clothes (the same you would wear to go running) and a smile 😄

Then we will guide you on how to choose the right equipment.

CALCULATE YOUR BMI

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult men and women.

Commonly accepted BMI ranges are underweight: under 18.5 kg/cm2, normal weight: 18.5 to 25, overweight: 25 to 30, obese: over 30.

*Example: 165cm and 63kg – BMI is 23
